Station 2: “Lead Us From Falsehood to Truth”

by Becca Chapman Smith

It's easy to accept the truth we like, but to be willing to see and understand what upsets us, makes us angry or uncomfortable or sad, or what we've fought against for a long time, is the truth we have to work hard for. We live in a time in which we're often attached to devices that offer an abundance of information, at top speed, and provide a stage to orate from without ever having to look someone in the face. We forget to step away, and slow down enough to be thoughtful. Thoughtful of real humans and thoughtful of real information, and the complexities of both. We forget to take time for self-reflection, and to consider we may have misstepped and taken the wrong path.

Each day, take a moment to detach from everything.

Give yourself a chance to breathe, and reflect, and to soften your mind to new directions.
