Station 3: “Lead Us From Despair to Hope”

by Wendy Nussman

Hope is not afraid of despair nor condemns despair. Hope meets despair where it is. Hope stays with despair and says, “Here I am! You are not alone.”

This is how I have seen this last year. The connections I have made this year have been invaluable and absolutely beautiful. I feel like the zoom meetings have been my Hope. No matter how I was feeling, and sometimes it was despair, everyone on zoom was there to meet me, pray for me, be with me, and say, “We are here with you. You are not alone.” I am very thankful for such a wonderful church that created such a way for us to be TOGETHER while APART!! Where I once had many acquaintances, now I have friends!

Some people will think of paint pours as “Happy Accidents,” a famous phrase used by the artist Bob Ross. Bob Ross would say, “there are no mistakes, just happy accidents.” I prefer to think of them as a God-Incidence. I have little control over the final product. I can mix the paints, pick the colors, choose the canvas, but the final product is in God’s hands.
